"Science can destroy religion by ignoring it as well as by disproving its tenets. No one ever demonstrated, so far as I am aware, the non-existence of Zeus or Thor - but they have few followers now."
Arthur C. Clarke - British science-fiction author and inventor.  Ardent atheist.  The film 2001: A Space Odyssey was based on his short story “The Sentinel.”  In the future envisioned in his novel 3001, religion has become taboo; the blood-soaked religions of the past, are viewed as barbaric.  The dinosaur species Serendipaceratops arthurcclarkei is named after him.
